Bootilicious!

Butt Hey Bobby,

I just lost 15 lbs. I am a 42 year old man currently 175 lbs at 5'11". I lost most of that weight from my behind, and my ass looks saggy like an old man's ass! What can I do to get a nice bubble ass?

Congratulations on your weight-loss! 15 pounds is a great accomplishment.

Concerning your issue with the loss of your rear...you have come to the right guy. Though I am as insecure with my looks as the next guy, there is one part of my body that I know looks pretty good: my butt. I really didn’t know I had a nice ass until a few years after being a dancer and people would comment on it. When I started to do weight training that just added to the compliments. Now I’m sure a lot of my bootiliciousness comes from genetics and my German/Mexican background. Add my dance training and all of those plies and leaps to the mix and “POW!” POWER BOOTIE!!

Hot and Sexy?

Hot and sexy Dear Bobby,
I am a fat person and no one loves me. I weigh 120 kg. and I don't know what to do. Please help me to lose weight because I want to be a little bit hot and sexy. Thanks a lot.

I have to be honest (I know...AGAIN?!) but I'm thinking the above email I received was sent as a joke. Mainly because the email address starts with jackblack@-----. So I thought someone was just trying to be funny. But then it got me thinking, how many of us actually feel like working out, having a better body, will get us what we want in life? Whether it is love, acceptance, or respect, I know I constantly battle with that issue.

No More Excuses!

Dv1554015 Bobby,

I'm a 19-year-old college student. I'm 5'11" and I weigh about 220 pounds. I want to lose weight, but it's hard because I work at a fast food restaurant, where I get free food. It’s tempting and easy to eat there because it's free and I'm a poor college student. I live too far away to walk to work. I know that I can do the regular sit-ups and pushups every night, but is there anything else I can do? When I get home from work it's usually night and I don't get up early enough to do anything in the morning.

Thanks,
Brandon

Be Proud

81142980 It's that time of year again when across the country we celebrates gays and those who love them! Gay Pride fever is here. Parades, dance tents, beer gardens, barbecues and a sea of shirtless men (and some shirtless women) converge in local parks to celebrate the diversity of the gay community.

Get Out Of The Gym

Park Training With the way today’s economy is it can be difficult for some people to shell out money for a personal trainer, gym membership, or crazy infomercial fitness equipment.  (I laughed when I saw the latest ab equipment that has the person swing side to side on wheels.  I was like, “Really?!”)

You can get a good calorie-burning workout outside of the gym and in your home.  However, I encourage you to get out of the house and go to your nearest park so you can enjoy the nice spring weather and fresh air.  And if the nearest park is walking distance then use that to your advantage and burn some extra calories getting there!

"I Need To Lose 125 Pounds!"

Overweight I am an over the road truck driver and I really need to loose about 125 pounds.  I do have high blood pressure and have had a mild heart attack couple years ago. So I'm switching careers and joinging a gym.  So after I join a gym what is the best way to get my cardio burning? I know when I walk now or even ride my mountain bike, with the high blood pressure I get all hot, bothered and dizzy in 15 to 20 minutes of exercising. Any advice would help. Thanks -- Tim

Hard Gainers

Man-scale Howdy Bobby...

I'm 39 and just joined my first gym.  I'm 5'10" and weigh about 150#. I'd like to gain 10 to 20 pounds of muscle over the course of several months. The problem is I have to eat so much, as my metabolism has always run ultra-high.  The reading and research I've done is always about those people who need to lose weight. What about those of us trying to gain weight? I've heard that I should stay away from cardio. Is this true? And what about protein loading? Should I be doing this too? Finally, your last post suggested that we eat small portions five to six times a day.  I work in a job where I get two 10-minute breaks and one half-hour lunch.  What should I be eating during those times to maximize my food intake? Any help you could give me would be great!

Thanks,

David

50 and Fit

Working out Dear Bobby, I am a 52 year old male. I have always been a thin guy. Would like to just tone up. Is it possible to get back into shape at 52? If so what sort of regimen is best?" -- Ken

This is a great question! I work with quite a few clients who are in their 50s to 80s. I’m assuming that since you said you have always been thin that you are still thin and you want to add more muscle to your frame. Yes, it is definitely possible to get in shape at 52! However, by shape do you mean like that hot 25 year old at the gym with huge arms and a tiny waist, or the best YOUR body can be right now?

Heart Condition and Exercise

Belly won't come off "Hi Bobby,
I can't go to a gym because of my heart condition. I walk and do crunches but my belly still won't come off. What can I do? Is there any exercise video for people with heart conditions?

I need to lose at least 5 pounds." -- John

A "Model" Example?

Body builder Have you flipped through the pages of most fitness magazines lately? I would say about 30% of the magazine is made up of articles or exercises and the remaining 70% consists of ads for the latest and greatest supplement. This one "adds muscle with its special protein blend," that one "burns fat using a state of the art combination of herbs and caffeine," the one that "increases your testosterone", or how "the natural anabolic steroid?"
