"Stop Bringing Me Down!"

200297774-001 Have you ever cut your finger and not known it, then suddenly noticed the cut and at that moment started to feel pain? Well, our entire life is often like that. What we focus on is what we typically experience. When we focus on anger, resentment and pain, we only keep experiencing more of these emotions.

Life Lessons for a Gay Man

Two-guys-list A friend of mine and I were enjoying lunch together and talking about all the misadventures we've had throughout the years. It got me thinking about how there are so many life lessons you learn as a gay man but we never seem to share them all with each other. There is no book or guide for us....YET.

50 and Fit

Working out Dear Bobby, I am a 52 year old male. I have always been a thin guy. Would like to just tone up. Is it possible to get back into shape at 52? If so what sort of regimen is best?" -- Ken

This is a great question! I work with quite a few clients who are in their 50s to 80s. I’m assuming that since you said you have always been thin that you are still thin and you want to add more muscle to your frame. Yes, it is definitely possible to get in shape at 52! However, by shape do you mean like that hot 25 year old at the gym with huge arms and a tiny waist, or the best YOUR body can be right now?

Ask Adam & Tony: "Getting My Own Back"

Discussion "Dear Adam & Tony, is an open relationship healthy and long lasting? I found out my boyfriend, two months relationship, wants to have an open relationship, but I feel hurt and angry and intend to do the same not because I agree with it, but because I am hurt. Help please. -- David"

Dating Bradford: The Seed of Doubt

BradfordByRayWadiaWebHis text came back, “Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it Saturday night, and I know you’re going away on business all next week, so lets get in touch when you return. Have a great day.”

It was a simple message, nothing off-putting or overtly skeptical, but it was enough to plant a parasite in my perception - that diminutive, distrusting, seed of doubt.

Scientists Make New HIV Breakthrough

For the first time ever, scientists have filmed HIV infecting healthy cells within the body. By injecting a protein into the HIV code researchers were able to see the infected cell as it showed up as green when looked at under a blue light. In this amazing video you are able to watch as an uninfected T-cell is infected with the HIV virus.

On a POZitive Note: Sexual Tilt

DepressedWe were all four in the hot tub with hard-ons. My two friends from Nashville – a gay couple of five years – and I, were experiencing Pete’s legendary Jacuzzi hospitality that always kept the gay community in our small upstate New York village talking. Pete was doing his part to accommodate my guests “needs,” and I was doing my part in facilitating their friendly fraternization turning from casual into sexual.

It started alright - the compliments, the groping, the kissing - then somewhere in my head a breaker switch tripped and I shut down - not only physically with the loss of my erection, but mentally as well. I felt panicky

The Odd Man Out

Lonely Have you ever been the only single adult in a group of couples? Have you ever found yourself to be the youngest in a group -- or the oldest? Have you gotten that uncomfortable feeling of being the only queer in a group of macho white men who couldn’t recognize a homosexual even if they got a blow job from one? We have all been in uncomfortable settings where we feel like the odd one out -- the fifth wheel,  the one who doesn’t belong.

"Grew up in a small farming community in South Dakota, went to school in beautiful Black Hills SD, and moved to the Twin Cities in '97 where I work as a Software Engineer.

Although I enjoy living in a larger city, I never forget my upbringing growing up in a small town and the value system that came with it.

My preference in men runs towards very masculine men 40+ who aren't afraid to be themselves and not just a gay stereo-type.

Hairy and facial hair is a +."

Can Hepatitis Vaccinations Cause False Positive HIV Tests?

Hepatitis Vaccination "I have been reading that hepatitis vaccinations can lead to false positives on HIV tests. I've read that it occurs most frequently in the ELISA tests. Would this also occur in the Oraquick tests provided in non-clinical settings? How long after vaccination would this cause a false positive or is this a permanent condition which would require a western blot to be done each time a test is done in the future?"
